1940年代のアアルトらしさが、この一台には色濃く残されています。

柔らかなブルーリノリウムの天板と、ホワイトペイントが施されたLレッグ。その組み合わせは、実用品として使われながらも、どこか詩的な空気をまとっています。長い年月を経て現れた擦れやペイントの剥がれさえ、このテーブルが歩んできた時間を物語る景色の一部です。

アアルトが開発したLレッグは、無垢材を曲げる革新的な構造として知られています。余計な装飾に頼らず、構造そのものを美しさへと昇華したデザインは、90年近く経った今もなお新鮮さを失いません。

当時のArtekでは、住宅だけでなく学校や公共施設にもリノリウム天板の家具が数多く採用されました。耐久性と実用性を備えながら、空間に穏やかな彩りを添える素材として選ばれていた背景があります。
