スウェーデンのガラス作家、Erik Höglundによるシャンデリア。

無骨なアイアンと、手吹きガラスの柔らかな表情。
異なる素材を組み合わせながらも、不思議なほど自然に調和するのは、ホグランの作品ならではです。

1960〜70年代、北欧デザインが合理性へ向かう一方で、ホグランは工業製品の中にも手仕事の温もりを残し続けました。
気泡や歪みをあえて残したガラスは、一点ごとに異なる表情を見せ、光を受けるたびに空間へ豊かな陰影を描き出します。

こちらは、スウェーデンの名門 Boda Smide 製。
鉄を鍛造したフレームに、吊り下げられたガラスオーナメント。装飾でありながら構造の一部でもあるこのデザインは、ホグランを象徴する意匠のひとつです。

点灯すると美しいのはもちろん、消灯時でさえ彫刻作品のような存在感があります。
照明という枠を超え、空間そのものを演出するアートピースです。
