「収納」という実用的な目的を、居住空間における知的な「風景」へと昇華させる。カイ・ウィンディングが設計し、名門ポール・ハンデバッド社が手掛けたこの『PH52』は、家具というプロダクトが持つべき誠実さと、工芸的な情緒が最も美しいバランスで同居している一台です。

最大の見どころは、前面に大胆に配されたラタン（籐）の編み込み。重厚なチーク材のフレームに対し、光を僅かに透かし、空気を逃がすこのテクスチャーは、大型の収納家具特有の「重さ」を消し去り、空間に心地よいリズムと「呼吸」を与えています。天板を持ち上げれば現れる広大な余白は、本来のブランケット収容のみならず、現代の生活における雑多なノイズを美しく封印するための、贅沢な「沈黙の場所」として機能します。

年月を吸い込み、深く、濃密な琥珀色へと遷移したチークのパティーナ。 ベッドエンドに置いて一日の終わりを整える台とするか、あるいはリビングでアートを飾るための低重心なプラットフォームとするか。
