重力からの解放、あるいは自然の断片を部屋に持ち込むという試み。 150年以上の歴史を誇るドイツの老舗・Walter Knoll（ヴァルター・ノル）と、パリを拠点に活動するデザイナー・菅澤大が辿り着いたのは、極めて原始的（プリミティブ）でありながら、最先端のエンジニアリングが凝縮された『ISHINO』でした。

最大の見どころは、川床で磨かれた小石（石野）のような有機的なフォルムと、マテリアルが放つ知的な違和感。天板に使用されたライトウェイト・コンクリートは、その重厚な視覚的印象に反して、現代の居住空間に相応しい軽やかさを備えています。H190mmという、極限まで低く設定された重心。それは、座るという行為をより床に近い「日本的な安らぎ」へと誘うための知的な仕掛けと言えるでしょう。

天板のマットな質感と、全体を支えるスリムな脚部の冷徹なライン。この「自然」と「人工」の衝突が生み出すリズムは、ソファの傍らにあって主張しすぎることなく、けれどその場所のコンテクストを劇的に、かつ静かに整えてくれる。

機能を形にし、静寂をデザインする。菅澤大の詩的な感性とドイツのクラフトマンシップが交差する場所で生まれた、居住空間に新しい「静けさ」をもたらす知的なピースです。
