アルヴァ・アアルトが1929年に手がけた「No.611」。Artekの最初期のラインナップでありながら、今なお全く色褪せないモダンな骨格を持つこの椅子は、アアルト・デザインの「原点」とも呼ぶべき一脚です。

最大の見どころは、バーチ材のフレームに施されたラタン（籐）の編み込み。定番のウェビングテープ仕様とは一線を画す、工芸的な温もりと軽やかな透過性が、居住空間に心地よい知的なリズムを与えてくれます。使い込むほどに琥珀色へと育っていくバーチとラタンのパティーナは、ヴィンテージでしか味わえない豊かな時間の集積です。
